In this paper I discussed briefly about different types of immunosuppressants and their mechanism of action and side effects. I elaborated on antigen therapy and some of it’s subtypes in details for the treatment of autoimmune disease which is thought to be a new promising approach in this field. Future developments in the use of multiplex systems for diagnosis and the discovery of new therapeutic agents could result in significant breakthroughs in this sector.
