Absztrakt
Breast cancer is one of the most prevalent cancers among women, affecting millions globally. Efforts to develop new therapies for its treatment are ongoing. This research investigates the potential of phyto-cannabinoids (CBD and CBG) derived from Cannabis sativa and their newly synthesized derivatives, in combination with bixin (a natural carotenoid), ILKA 675 and ILKA 676, for breast cancer treatment. The compounds were tested on the MCF-7 breast cancer cell line, and their cytotoxicity was evaluated by determining the IC50 values using the MTT assay, which assessed the compounds' effectiveness in killing cancer cells. Additionally, an antioxidant capacity evaluation was performed using the ORAC assay, comparing the derivatives' antioxidant properties to Trolox (a known Vitamin E antioxidant). The results of this assay help determine the potential of these new derivatives not only in treating breast cancer but also in addressing other chronic diseases associated with oxidative stress.
