In my thesis, I am looking for an answer to the question: Why could Elizabeth Jolley get The Miles Franklin Award? Winning Australia‟s highest literary award added a great deal to her success, especially because that was the time when Jolley started to become well-known in literary circles. Elizabeth Jolley was the first person who won the award in spite of the fact that she was not Australian by birth; she immigrated to the country when she was 36 years old.hu_HU
