dc.description.abstractBride and Prejudice is a Bollywood adaptation of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice. Nowadays, more and more Austen adaptations are made all over the world. This is a successful example. Gurinder Cahdha tried something special and something new; she directed the Bollywood version of Pride and Prejudice. There is a tendency in Bollywood film industry; it adapts European classics and reinterprets in the Eastern world like Kandukondain Kandukondain (Sense and Sensibility). In my thesis, I will examine the multicultural elements, the Western-Eastern relationships and the differences between Bollywood and Hollywood.hu_HU
