This thesis explores that although Quentin Tarantino admittedly utilizes the gangster genre in his movies, he twists certain fundamental notions and concepts of it in a way that makes his works stand out of classic genre cinema. The focal points in terms of differences are genre transformations and character alterations. The movies discussed include Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown and Kill Bill Vol. 1-2.
