In my essay, I will attempt to explore how Christie’s early texts, namely the first three novels of the Miss Marple series, that is, The Murder at the Vicarage (1930), The Body in the Library (1942) and The Moving Finger (1942) discuss and twist gender roles through outstanding female and male characters.
