Abstract

Beta-blockers are an important class of drugs that are widely recommended for the management of cardiovascular disease, heart failure, and hypertension. However, pharmacological differences among beta-blockers impact use in everyday practice. The clinical rationale for using beta blockers is to antagonize the beta-1- adrenoceptor signaling to reduce the rate and force of cardiac muscle contraction.
