Obesity and Diabetes, termed the twin epidemics, are two of the most pressing healthcare concerns of the 21st century. Obesity is the leading risk factor for diabetes development, and so its treatment and prevention are current methods being explored in hopes to halt this crisis. This study examines anti-obesity medications, Orlistat and Liraglutide, alone and in combination with currently approved anti-diabetes medication, Metformin. The ability to reduce body weight and reverse the prediabetes state is quantified and compared in hopes to find the best treatment approach for at risk obese and prediabetic individuals.
