Applying Freudian psychoanalysis I try to give a possible explanation of how personal and cultural history remember their past in Julian Barnes’ England, England and how can Martha Cochrane overcome and deconstruct her childhood traumas with the help of reconstructing the national history of England considering personal and collective memory.
