The thesis compares the use of agricultural land in Ghana, focusing on farmland ownership versus renting. It does so by answering how these different land tenure systems impact farming productivity and economic outputs and bring about sustainability in agricultural practices. The research draws from data from Ghanaian farmers in assessing how ownership or leasing affects their ability to invest in land improvements and sustain livelihoods. Different land uses are discussed, all having economic problems and gains, to ways in which farmers might be assisted. It finally helps understand how land tenure can promote agricultural efficiency and economic growth in Ghana.
