This thesis gives information about the pharmacological therapy of certain diseases in women that have obesity and insulin resistance. The two diseases discussed are diabetes mellitus and polycystic ovarian syndrome. The diagnosis, pathophysiology,symptoms and epidemiology as well are detailed in a simple way. Drugs that target the blood glucose concentration in order to decrease it are represented. Their mechanisms of action and possible side effects are not left out.
