In my thesis I will write about Thomas Jefferson and his famous family estate Monticello which is one of the most outstanding architectural masterpieces of Jefferson’s time. I argue that Jefferson’s family values, the literary works of architects which he read, the different cultures, the architectural influences which provided the background of building of his home and gardens influenced his activities as an amateur architect in general. Finally, I will deal with the construction of Monticello in particular and we can read about Monticello in the past and in the present, as well.hu_HU
