This research focuses on the post-socialist European countries to see whether the newly achieved economic freedom after the fall of communism has any effect on social trust levels in this region. Through cross-sectional and panel regression analyses, the work concludes that economic freedom generally cannot explain the trust levels in post-socialist Europe except for the case of post-socialist countries that are currently members of the European Union.hu_HU
