Zika virus infection: emerging a new vector-borne disease
Absztrakt
Zika virus is an arthropod-borne virus that belongs to the Flaviridae family. It causes Zika disease which is characterised by headache, fever, arthralgia, conjunctivitis, rash and recently it is found to be associated with microcephaly and Guillain-barre syndrome. The single stranded enveloped positive sense RNA virus is primarily transmitted by Aedes mosquitoe. Diagnose using ELISA, RT-PCR. Treated with bedrest, rehydration and acetaminophen.
