The purpose of my thesis is to explore the topic of Historical Trauma, which affects many Native American people's life. I elaborate on the process of assimilation and focus on the results of assimilation. I discuss the damaging effects of separating an Indigenous child from his/her birth mother and Native origins at an early age and also explain Native American people's position in the city. Last but not least, I describe how Indian people can preserve their Native identity by practicing tribal ceremonies.
