dc.description.abstractHigh blood pressure, known as hypertension, poses a concern for health. It affects several adults globally contributing to cardiovascular issues.The rising prevalence of hypertension in lower- and middle-income countries adds pressure to healthcare systems and highlights the importance of management. To manage blood pressure, the use of medication remains an aspect of hypertension treatment. Treatment guidelines emphasize a patient centered approach that includes a range of medications like beta blockers, calcium channel blockers, ACE inhibitors, diuretics and angiotensin II receptor blockers. The development of drugs and combination therapies has enhanced the effectiveness and adherence, to treatment protocols.
