    The thesis is about the fiscal policy of oil-rich economies. Emphasis was placed on Nigeria. Angola and Russia were also compared. It showed that the fiscal policy is not as good as it should be. Reason being the dependence on oil revenue.

    Economic impact of poverty in Nigeria. In order to reduce poverty Nigerian government spending must be of high quality. Fiscal policy expansion should aim to increase living standards by increasing the portion of government spending that promotes sustainable growth. Accountability and transparency should be encouraged to attract foreign investment. The government should promote value creation in critical sectors of the Nigerian economy that employ a sizeable population in agriculture and industry. The government should encourage patriotism in order to encourage economic growth and reduce poverty
