This study meant to gather and analyse information on the characteristic forms of classroom management concerning the teaching of English as a foreign language in primary and secondary schools. I would like to throw light on the attitude of English teachers to using the different forms of classwork. I wonder whether language teachers use the more learnercentered forms or they still insist on only the traditional forms of the earlier pedagogic approach. I try to find out if teachers could adopt the techniques of pairwork and groupwork in order to improve their students’ oral production better and to ensure more variety in their lessons or they prefer the traditional forms such as lockstep activities which provide them security in spite of the results of both teaching experience and research studies which point out the advantages of these classwork. What are the reasons that can be claimed to account for the teachers’ choice?
