The aim of this paper is to analyze food films where eating does not evoke its traditional rituals and inscriptions like intimacy, sharing and showing love. While Hollywood film industries aim to strengthen these ancient myths, the films I discuss reject the archetypical representation of feast and use food to bring taboos to the surface.
