Az értekezés magyar diskurzusjelölők szekvenciális, szupraszegmentális és funkcionális sajátosságait és a beszélő ejtésük közbeni nem verbális jelhasználatát vizsgálja multimodális korpuszokban. Empirikus kutatásom kvantitatív és kvalitatív módszereket ötvöz a kérdőívek, hangfelvételek és videótartalmak elemzésében, valamint a kiértékelő szakaszban leíró és következtetéses statisztikai próbákat használ. Mindezek együttesen hozzájárultak funkcionális diskurzusjelölő annotációs modellemen kifejlesztéséhez, amely teljes egészében és szisztematikusan leírja az elemek funkcionális spektrumát. Továbbá empirikus kutatásom eredményei két döntési fa kifejlesztéséhez vezettek, amelyek meg tudják különböztetni a mondjuk és az ugye használatának két-két legmarkánsabb funkcióját. The dissertation studies the sequential, nonverbal and functional properties of Hungarian discourse markers in multimodal corpora of spontaneous conversations from a discourse-pragmatic perspective. My corpus analysis methodology combines quantitative and qualitative methods in the multimodal analysis of the recordings as well as descriptive and inferential statistical tests during the interpretation phase of and corpus query and questionnaire results. All these methods jointly contributed to the refinement of my proposed annotation model that entirely and systematically describes the functional spectrum of DMs. Corpus queries and their statistical analyses have also resulted in the development of two decision trees which can distinguish between two salient functions of mondjuk (~'say') and ugye (~'is that so?’) each, and may later be implemented as an algorithm.
