The purpose of this paper is to describe the nature, etiology, measurements and the different treatment options available for patients with dental anxiety and fear, evaluating them in the process. This thesis covers the issue of fear and anxiety with respect to dentistry. It explores the nature and etiology of dental fear and anxiety, the body and minds responses and how to recognize such patients in a dentist's daily work. It also discusses the measurement of fear and anxiety and the different methods that have been suggested to help us.
