Dental fluorosis is the hypomineralisation of tooth enamel caused by the ingestion of excessive fluoride during enamel formation in the developmental ages between 20 to 30 months of age. The recommended intake of fluoride is 0.05 - 0.07 mg F/Kg/day and levels above this will likely cause this condition.
