My thesis focused on investigating the microorganisms that can be a risk markers for periodontitis in patients with diabetes type 1, to determine how the diabetic condition can affect the periodontium of a patient by altering the oral micro-flora and how periodontitis can act as a risk marker for high glucose level and finally looked into the bidirectional relationship between diabetes type 1 and periodontitis
