Periodontitis and cardiovascular diseases are one of the most communal chronic disorders of the overall population. Even though a huge number of observational investigations back an association between cardiovascular disease and periodontitis, within the latest two decades a causal link between these diseases has been repetitively suggested but never proven. Certainly, most of these allegations have made lot of confusions in the dental and medical community whether there is a real advantage of treating periodontitis on the evolution of vascular diseases or decreasing the risk of future CVD events.
