Role of Rotablation in interventional cardiology
Absztrakt
With the increasing calcification of plaques, especially in the older population and those with multiple comorbidities, interventional cardiology has faced a lot of challenges. Rotational Atherectomy is type of percutaneous coronary intervention used in the debunking of heavily calcified plaques. It ablates plaques whilst it rotates at a speed of 140,000-180,000 rpm hence breaking up the plaque into derbis of 5micrometer. it has shown better results especially when combined with drug eluting stent
