Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a chronic and often debilitating polygenic disease that has had a significant negative impact on health across the globe. It is a disease with a complex pathophysiology and quite often it is very difficult to manage. The ideal management approach is both personalised and multifaceted. During the thesis I intend to inform readers about the various details of treatment options, as well as any new advances in the pharmacological management.
