This paper explores the detailed anatomical and physiological description of the cornea then goes on to explain the term corneal dystrophy in detail, its new classification system according to IC3D, various signs and symptoms, methods of diagnosis, management strategies, the new treatment modalities and lastly future trends in treatment of corneal dystrophies especially in the field of genetic therapy.
