In this study, we develop a GIS tool at the hydrological basin scale.that supports water management resources in Debrecen, explain the relationships between land uses and major processes hydrological aspects of the water cycle, and study the impacts of land cover on the main hydrological processes of the water parameters. The analysis of hydrological behavior is complex. In the context of this thesis, only one dimension of this complexity is understood in the form of indicators constructed to inform the relationship between land cover classes and three major hydrological processes in the water cycle: evapotranspiration, runoff, and infiltration. We developed a remote sensing and geographical information system-based spatial decision support tool for water balance modelling to estimate the infiltration and other water cycle parameters rate in each land class, understand the relationships between land uses and major processes hydrological aspects of the water cycle, and study the impacts of land cover on the main hydrological processes.
