Cardiac pacemaker dependence is an important concept to be emphasised across different specialities considering the continuing increase in the use of pacemakers .This thesis summarises the basics pertaining to pacemakers and definitions of cardiac pacemaker dependence .The relevance of a patient being pacemaker dependent in regards to management of different clinical events is also highlighted .
