This thesis is about the double jeopardy clause of the Fifth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. It aims at pointing out the problem which arises from the law. This problem is that during the trial if the defendant is acquitted of committing a crime, a second trial cannot be held that says the defendant is guilty. The defendants are free to leave if there is no evidence against them. I chose the famous O. J. Simpson case to present my hypothesis. Also, there are popular culture works that present the problem regarding the law.
