dc.description.abstractThe aim of this thesis is to review the possibilities of treatment options for prostate cancer, especially in those cases when the patient has locally advanced cancer.In locally advanced prostate carcinomas the irradiation therapy plus hormonal therapy was the traditional treatment. However, in the latest decade, multimodal treatment is increasingly used as a new treatment option in patients with locally advanced cancer. Applying multimodal treatment, the first step is radical prostatectomy, and thereafter, based on the histology, adjuvant or salvage irradiation can be performed. The oncological outcome of multimodal treatment is similar to the results of traditional irradiation plus hormonal treatment.hu_HU
