The aim of this thesis is to analyse Marilyn Manson as a carnivalistic male monster figure in contemporary pop culture and to examine how his self-constructed image is an essential part of the parody of society and religion which is the aim of his art. In the first part I examine his grotesque body and demeanours on the basis of the medieval body concepts while the second part is about the various hybridised and monstrous attires of Manson.
