The Impacts of Racial Segregation and the Reasons of Racial Inequality in the Education of the United States of America
Absztrakt
The main focus of my thesis is to prove that racial differentiation in the education of the United States still creates a relevant and urgent problem even after legal segregation had ended. In the introduction, I go through the definitions and concepts that are crucial in understanding the issue, and then in the first chapter of my essay, I mention the most important historic events and legal cases that illustrate the difficulty of eradicating racism and segregation and explain the development of the current situation in the USA. In the second part of the essay, I will discuss how forms of racial discrimination have changed over time and how they relate to the residential and socioeconomic background of African American citizens so that it will give us a picture of why there is still institutionalized segregation, even though it has seemingly ceased to exist. The last chapter of my thesis evaluates the disadvantages and the damage that segregated education causes and whether there is a possible solution to these long-rooted problems.
