dc.description.abstractThe thesis is about snytactic ambiguity in English and Hungarian as well. Different topics are represented and discussed: Binding and coreference, garden path sentences, prepositional phrases, adjuncts, complements, adverbs, phrasal verbs, prepositional verbs, gerund, present participle and coordination. The Hungarian phenomena are the following: Binding and coreference,one noun: two different roles, suffixes (-nak/nek,-ról/ről,-k)and pronouns. I also conducted a survey with the help of 20 students and the results, illustrated with figures, can also be seen in the thesis.hu_HU
