Research on the Motivations and Risks of Midea Group's M&A of KUKA

With the rapid development of economic globalization today, overseas mergers and acquisitions have become an important means for companies from all over the world to implement internationalization strategies. As China's international competitiveness has increased, Western countries have imposed a technological blockade on China in terms of high and new technology, which has made it more difficult for domestic companies to acquire foreign high-tech companies. Based on the above background, this article chooses Midea Group's acquisition of German robotics company KUKA Group as a case study. Based on the analysis of the related theories of the motivations and risks of Chinese companies' cross-border mergers and acquisitions, this article uses relevant theories combined with cases to evaluate the preventive measures after Midea's merger and acquisition of KUKA. At the same time, it also provides reference basis and relevant suggestions for Chinese companies' mergers and acquisitions.
