Obesity is a complex, multifactorial condition characterized by excess body fat. It is one of the leading preventable causes of death worldwide. It must be viewed as a chronic disorder. It is associated with many other diseases, and it warrants recognition by health-care providers. There are a lot of causes and risk factors that contribute to the development of obesity such as unhealthy diet, sedentary lifestyle, genetic disorders. There are many possible pathophysiological mechanisms involved in the development and maintenance of obesity.
