Assessment and evaluation have an essential role in the foreign language classroom in order to give students feedback on the basis of their results. In this thesis the focus is on assessment in the English as a Foreign Language (EFL) classroom and evaluation about different kinds of tests are written. In theory, the main aim is to provide our students with enough feedback while giving reasons why testing is important even if it is undesirable. Nevertheless, it is also very difficult how to make good tests in terms of validity and reliability and the biggest question is how we can guarantee the development and success for our students in terms of assessment and evaluation. In practice, the main goal is to show how secondary school students at different levels perform when they are tested in various ways in the classroom or evaluated by the efficiency of their receptive and productive skills in the classroom.hu_HU
