The Impact of ODOP Trademark on Firms’ Performance of Entrepreneur in Vientiane Capital, Laos

Absztrakt
This thesis study on the impact of ODOP trademarks on firms’ performance of entrepreneurship in Vientiane Capital, Laos, mainly focuses on analyzing the overall ODOP firms and the impact of ODOP trademarks on firms’ performance. We collected data from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Laos (MOIC), including 65 questionnaire surveys distributed to firms that received ODOP trademarks. The ordinary least squares method (OLS) was used to analyze the empirical results. The findings of the descriptive analysis illustrated that most firms that received ODOP trademarks are in Vientiane Capital, Handicraft sector has received the most ODOP trademarks, and the country’s SMEs are mostly scattered in Vientiane Capital. The OLS results show that labor and improving product quality are the main factors that affect firms’ performance, with statistical significance at the 95% confidence interval; likewise, education and gender are also significant factors influencing firms’ performance.
