dc.description.abstract	Az I. világháború centenáriuma új lendületet adott a téma néprajzi és történeti kutatásának. A háború makro-összefüggései mellett előtérbe kerülnek a mikrotörténeti elemek, azon belül is a hátország szerepének feltárása. Az időbeli távolság és az orális források elérhetetlensége miatt az írott, tárgyi és képi források váltak a Nagy Háború elsődleges forrásaivá. Vizsgált témám az Abaúji Református Egyházmegye gyülekezeteinek, lelkészeinek élete a hátországban a világháború alatt. Az I. világháború évei alatt az Abaúji Református Egyházmegyében lezajlott eseményeket elsősorban levéltári források alapján rekonstruálom. A vizsgálat tárgyát képezte a gyülekezeti tisztségviselők, gyülekezeti tagok és felekezeti népiskolai tanítók mozgósítása, az állam nyersanyagigényének növekedésével az egyházközségek harangjainak rekvirálása és pótlása, a gyülekezetek hadikölcsön-jegyzései, a református tábori lelkészet intézményesítésének kérdései és az I. világháború emlékezete az egyházmegyében. A téma újdonságát adja, hogy az egyháztörténeti kutatások nem tértek ki a 20. század első évtizedeire, sokkal inkább koncentráltak a két világháború közötti, majd a második világháború utáni időszakra. Az Abaúji Református Egyházmegye történetéről sem született eddig összefoglaló munka. Az egyházmegye történetének feltárása a trianoni döntés következményei miatt is érdekes – hiszen a határhúzással megfelezték az egyházmegye területét, melynek hatása az emlékezetkultúrában is megfigyelhető. A hátország-jelenség vizsgálatára megfelelőnek bizonyult mind a kutatott régió, mind a téma. Ez leginkább az állam és az egyház kapcsolati dinamikájában mutatkozik meg: a hátország – és azon belül az egyház mintegy kiszolgálója az állam hadi igényeinek. Az állam és a hadvezetés elképzeléseit azonban gyakran felülírták a gyülekezeti közösségek lokális döntései. Az egyházmegye szervezeti egységként közvetítő szerepet töltött be az egyházkerület és a gyülekezetek között, ahogyan az egyházkerület az állami vezetéssel állt folyamatos kapcsolatban. / The centenary of World War I gave new impetus to the ethnographic and historical research of the topic. In addition to the macro-connections of the war, the micro-historical elements come to the fore, including the exploration of the role of the hinterland. Because of the distance in time and the inaccessibility of oral sources, written, physical and visual sources became the primary sources of the Great War. My research topic is the life of the congregations and pastors of the Reformed Diocese of Abaúj in the hinterland during the World War. I am reconstructing the events that took place in the Reformed Diocese of Abaúj during the years of World War I primarily based on archival sources. The subject of the research was the mobilization of church officials, church members and denominational folk school teachers, the requisitioning and replacement of parish bells as the state's demand for raw materials increased, war loan subscriptions of churches, issues of the institutionalization of the reformed camp clergy and the memory of World War I in the diocese. The novelty of the topic is that church history research did not cover the first decades of the 20th century, but rather focused on the period between the two world wars and after the Second World War. So far, no summary work has been published on the history of the Reformed Diocese of Abaúj. Exploring the history of the diocese is also interesting because of the consequences of the Trianon decision - since the territory of the diocese was halved with the drawing of the border, the effect of which can also be observed in the culture of memory. Both the researched region and the topic proved to be suitable for examining the hinterland phenomenon. This is most evident in the dynamics of the relationship between the state and the church: the hinterland - and the church within it - serves the military needs of the state. However, the ideas of the state and military leadership were often overridden by the local decisions of church communities. As an organizational unit, the diocese played an intermediary role between the church district and the congregations, just as the church district was in constant contact with the state leadership.
