The following analysis will focus on the notion, that the two media are heading towards a kind of symbiosis (concerning adaptations), while, in the long run, it is not necessarily beneficial for neither of them, since it bereaves them from their unique characteristics. The impossibility of equivalence between a work and its adaptation, and the idea that visuality alone is not enough to necessitate or justify medial translation will be illustrated with Alan Moore’s Watchmen and Zack Snyder’s film with the same title.
