Today, travel, which was a privilege many years ago, became accessible to everyone. Tourism is a major contributor to economic recovery and job creation at international and domestic level. Within tourism, health tourism - which includes wellness and spa tourism and its various fields - is playing an increasingly important role today. In addition to gaining experience, recreation is also a determining factor when visiting the spa. One of the building blocks of wellness tourism in Hungary is the millennial bath culture with its historical baths. In my research, I found it important to present, in the case of spas with a historical past, how they look at their past, how it appears in their communication and in the services offered. In the course of the literature review the Roman and Turkish bath culture was introduced, which later appeared in Hungary too. The first baths were built in Aquincum in the 2 nd century, which served not only for sanitation but also for social relations. With the Turkish occupation another culture appeared in the country. The Turks largely took over the design of the buildings of the Roman baths and, in some cases, continued to use the buildings. Based on the answers received, I found that the traditional bathing culture is present in the offer of the surveyed spas today, and the traditional Turkish bathing habits are still exist, but these could be better introduced to the spa visitors.

Mára mindenki számára elérhetővé vált az utazás, ami évekkel ezelőtt privilégiumnak számított. A turizmus jelentős mértékben járul hozzá a gazdaság élénkítéséhez és a munkahelyteremtéshez mind nemzetközi, mind hazai szinten. A turizmuson belül az egészségturizmus – mely magában foglalja a wellness- és a gyógyturizmust, és a hozzájuk tartozó különböző területeket – egyre jelentősebb szerepet játszik napjainkban. Ugyanis az élményszerzés mellett a rekreáció is meghatározó tényező a fürdő felkeresése során. Magyarországon a wellness turizmus egyik építő eleme az évezredes fürdőkultúra a történelmi fürdőkkel. Kutatásom során fontosnak tartottam bemutatni, hogy a történelmi múlttal rendelkező fürdők hogyan tekintenek a múltjukra, és ez mennyire jelenik meg a kommunikációjuk során és a kínált szolgáltatási elemekben. A szakirodalmi feldolgozás során bemutatásra került a római és a török fürdőkultúra kialakulása, amely később hazánkban is megjelent. Az első fürdők Aquincum területén épültek meg a II. században, amely nem csupán a tisztálkodásra, hanem a társas kapcsolatok ápolására is szolgált. A török megszállással egy másik kultúra is megjelent az országban. A törökök nagyrészt a római fürdők épületeinek felépítését és bizonyos esetekben magát az épületet vették át és használták tovább. A beérkezett válaszok alapján megállapítottam, hogy a tradicionális fürdőkultúra napjainkban jelen van a megkérdezett fürdők kínálatában, valamint a hagyományos török fürdőzési szokások ma is élnek, azonban ezeket jobban meg lehetne ismertetni a fürdőlátogatókkal is.
