This thesis is a contrative study of how personality factors influence the process of L2 learning of hearing-impaired- and hearing students. This dissertation supposes that the level of risk-taking and the level of self-esteem are lower in the case of hearing-impaired students than in the case of hearing students, and these lower levels have negative effects on the results that hard-of-hearing learners can achieve in their L2 studies. Since the number of researches in this topic is very limited, a research that included 3 parts was done with 2 groups: a hearing-impaired- and a hearing group.hu_HU
