My thesis gathers the major events of the conflicts between the Sioux Nation and the United States from the 19th century till the 20th century. I wrote my thesis in Sioux point of view, as I pay attention to what hardships, problems the tribe had to face with due to the mistreatment of the United States. In the 19th century I emphasized the major wars between the Sioux and the US such as the Dakota Sioux War, and Red Cloud's war. In the first half of the 20th century I mentioned the hardships of the changing life of the Sioux, mentioning the farm work and the boarding schools. In the second half of the century I highlighted how the Sioux took revenge against centuries of mistreatment by such movement as the American Indian Movement and Indians of All Tribes and I introduce the occupation of Alcatraz and that of Wounded Knee.hu_HU
