Trauma and violence in The Color Purple and in Mister Pip

Violence and trauma affects many people’s life daily. Most of the victims are women or children, moreover it can also happen to men. Violence most of the time results in trauma, which has a negative impact on the victim’s life. Despite movements, people are not aware and cautious about it. The paper discusses violence and trauma in general and from the perspective of fictitious characters from the novels: Mister Pip and The Color Purple. The purpose of this paper is to show that violence and trauma operate in the same way as in the world, and how the characters deal with it in their life.
