Absztrakt
This thesis focus on the European Union integration, using Croatia as a case study. It examines Croatia's economic convergence phenomenon from various perspectives, closely studying the process of Croatia gradually converging with the economies, living standards, and other indicators of prosperity of EU affluent countries. The thesis analyzes Croatia's GDP, labor market, institutional system, and Human Development Index from 2000 to 2022, comparing them with other EU countries. It also explores the roles of the government and the EU in Croatia's development path, as well as how policies influence its evolution. Multiple data sources such as Eurostat, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, and the Human Development Report are utilized to compare the convergence process of Croatia with affluent EU member states.
