Kutatásomat 2016-2019 között végeztem a Hajdú-Bihar megyében, a Nyíradonyi járásban, a magyar-román határtól mintegy 10, Debrecentől 20 kilométerre található, közigazgatásilag városi jogállású Vámospércsen. Vámospércs városiasodási folyamatának feltárása, leírása, illetve társadalmi-településnéprajzi ok-okozati vizsgálata volt a fő célom. A terepen való tartózkodások alkalmával, valamint a kutatási anyagok szintetizálásánál szembenéztem a jelenkutatás nehézségeivel, így az új kutatási modellben, tematikákra és kutatási szeletekre osztottam fel magát a kutatás tárgyát a városiasodást. Intézményesülés, infrastruktúra, gazdaság, mezőgazdaság, ipar, településnéprajz, kulturális élet, társadalmi csoportok alkották a kutatás fő irányvonalát. A kutatási szeletek között megkerestem azokat a relációkat, amelyek végül egésszé teszik a városiasodott település képét. A kutatás idődimenziója keresztmetszeti, az 1990-2019 közötti folyamatokat rögzítettem. A néprajztudomány kutatási módszertanainak széles skáláját alkalmaztam: félig strukturált mélyinterjú készítés, mentális térképezés, kérdőív készítése, eseményeken, rendezvényeken és a város hétköznapjaiban a résztvevői megfigyelés. Segítségül hívtam társtudományok kutatási eredményeit is, így a társadalomföldrajz terminusai és kutatásai alkották a saját kutatásom alappilléreit. Nemcsak interjúk, vagyis szöveges forrásokra hagyatkoztam, hanem térképekre és fotókra egyaránt. A legszembetűnőbb változásokat ezek a források és kutatási eszközök produkálták. Végeredményében Vámospércs mind közigazgatásilag, mind intézményi és infrastrukturális szempontból városiasodott, a különböző szektorok (agrár, ipar, szolgáltatói, gazdasági) mindegyik magas fejlettségi szinten megtalálható a településen. Kulturális körképére igaz az, hogy az alulról szerveződő csoportok és civil kezdeményezések adják a kulturális élet magját és gyökerét, elsősorban ők az aktív résztvevői a város szellemei életében. Ugyanakkor kívülről van egy mesterséges kultúraépítés, amibe beletartozik az identitás irányvonalának meghatározása, illetve azok a kulturális tényezők, amelyek együttesen alkotják Vámospércs szellemi és kulturális értékeit. / I conducted my research between 2016-2019 in Hajdú-Bihar county, Nyíradony district, in Vámospércs, which is administratively a town and is located approximately 10 kilometers from the Hungarian-Romanian border and 20 kilometers from Debrecen. My main goal was the exploration and description of the urbanization process of Vámospércs, as well as the socio-settlement ethnographic investigation. During the stays in the field, as well as when synthesizing the research materials, I faced the difficulties of current research, so in the new research model, I divided the research subject of urbanization into themes and research sections. Institutionalization, infrastructure, economy, agriculture, industry, settlement ethnography, cultural life, social groups formed the main direction of the research. Among the pieces of research, I looked for the relationships that ultimately make the picture of the urbanized settlement whole. The time dimension of the research is cross-sectional, I recorded the processes between 1990-2019. I used a wide range of ethnographic research methodologies: semi-structured in-depth interviews, mental mapping, questionnaires, participant observation at events and the everyday life of the city. I also used the research results of related sciences for help, so the terms and research of social geography formed the cornerstones of my own research. I relied not only on interviews, textual sources, but also on maps and photos. The most noticeable changes were produced by these sources and research tools. As a result, Vámospércs has become urbanized both administratively and from an institutional and infrastructural point of view, the various sectors (agricultural, industrial, service, economic) can all be found in the settlement at a high level of development. It is true to its cultural landscape that grassroots groups and civil initiatives provide the core and root of cultural life, they are primarily active participants in the life of the city's spirits. At the same time, there is an artificial cultural construction from the outside, which includes the determination of the direction of identity, as well as the cultural factors that together form the intellectual and cultural values of Vámospércs.
