AF is a common and serious cardiac arrhythmia that poses significant risks to individuals worldwide, including an increased risk of stroke, heart failure, and mortality. As a result, AF is a major public health concern that requires comprehensive management to address its various aspects and improve patient outcomes. Shared decision-making in the treatment of atrial fibrillation is crucial for ensuring that patients receive the most appropriate and effective care for their condition. By involving patients in the decision-making process, healthcare providers can consider their individual preferences, values, and goals, leading to a more personalized approach to treatment. This can ultimately improve patient satisfaction and adherence to treatment, as well as enhance patient-provider communication and trust. The ABC approach is a brilliant and appropriate approach to care in AF.
