dc.description.abstractThe thesis aims to discuss the pharmacological management of obesity with emphasis on the evolution of anti-obesity drugs. An ideal anti-obesity drug should be one that produces sustained weight loss and fewer side effects. Polytherapies that simultaneously target multiple organic mechanisms show promise for the future. Lastly the thesis briefly discusses the scope of alternative and complementary medicine in the management of obesity.hu_HU
