New advance in treatment of depression

Abstract

Depression in one of the most common mental illness in the world. There are various kinds of antidepressants such as TCAs, MAOIs, SSRIs and SNRIs. They have been used to treat depression, however new evidence has shown that the circadian rhythm hormone: melatonin is also relevant to depression. So, a new specific drug targeting melatonin receptors: agomelatine was introduced.
