Management Of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
Absztrakt
In summary, PTSD is known as a disorder in which the person fails to recover after experiencing a traumatic event. It is one of the few mental disorders whose etiology is known. The first-line treatment for PTSD is considered to be psychotherapy which mainly encourages patients to share their story and their experiences, overcome the fear they feel and recognize them as a survivor, and give meaning to it. The associated symptoms can be managed with the help of medications such as anti-depressants, sedatives, hypnotics, and anxiolytics. There is hope for recovery in patients suffering from PTSD with adequate help through therapies and treatment, physical exercise, healthy diet, and sleeping pattern.
